Over-the-Counter (OTC) Benefit
As a RiverSpring Star or RiverSpring MAP plan member, you receive an over-the-counter (OTC) benefit that allows you to purchase your needed health-related items that do not require a prescription, such as first aid products, ointments, cold/flu medicine, pain relievers, at no cost to you, up to the maximum plan benefit amount. In addition, members eligible for Special Supplemental Benefits for the Chronically Ill (SSBCI) can use their OTC allowance to purchase plan-approved food and grocery items. You will receive a RiverSpring OTC card for purchasing eligible, non-prescription, over-the-counter drugs, health-related items and grocery items from an approved list of participating locations.
The Monthly Benefit for CY2024:
The OTC Benefit for RiverSpring Star (HMO I-SNP) members will be $155.00 per month.
The OTC Benefit for RiverSpring MAP (HMO D-SNP) members will be $155.00 per month.
The Monthly Benefit for CY2025:
The OTC Benefit for RiverSpring Star (HMO I-SNP) members will be $150.00 per month.
The OTC Benefit for RiverSpring MAP (HMO D-SNP) members will be $218.00 per month.
*The benefits mentioned are a part of special supplemental program for the chronically ill. Some examples of conditions include Cardiovascular Disorder, Hypertension, Osteoarthritis, Endocrine Disorder and Gastrointestinal Disorder. Eligibility for this benefit cannot be guaranteed based solely on your condition. Eligible members will be notified and provided instructions on how to access this benefit.
There are two ways to get your OTC items:

- You can use your OTC card to purchase eligible OTC items at any participating stores, which include CVS, Duane Reade, Walgreens, Family Dollar, and local pharmacies. - You can place an online order using the catalog at www.athome.medline.com/card to buy eligible OTC items.
